The following Code of Conduct has been developed to ensure these values are known to everyone.

A copy of the Code of Conduct is framed and located adjacent to the bar for the benefit of all.

MANDATORY & ENFORCEABLE CODE OF CONDUCT FOR

MEMBERS, SUPPORTERS, VISITORS, COACHES, PLAYERS, PARENTS AND OFFICIALS

The Club Code of Conduct applies to all Pooraka Sports and Community Club (The Club) officials, volunteers, players, members (including unfinancial members), visitors and supporters.

                                                                                      ALL CLUB MEMBERS

Club members must, at all times and while in public, behave in a manner which upholds and promotes the highest standards of respect, integrity and dignity.

Pooraka Sport and Community Club members must not behave in any way so as to bring their team or the Pooraka Sports and Community Club into disrepute.

Public behaviour includes, without limitation, behaviour during travel to or from matches, participation in authorised matches, Club functions and other public venues where the Pooraka Sports & Community Club.  member is participating in authorised activities.

Without limitation, this Code of Conduct also applies on the Club’s licensed premises, grounds and car parking areas.

The Club is a member of the Pooraka Community and as such is respectful of its neighbours and supporters and seeks to role-model this behaviour. 

To ensure that the Club maintains a positive and beneficial relationship with its members, neighbours and other members of the local community, all Club members are expected to observe the following:

  • Do not drive in or out of the Club grounds at excessive speed.
  • Do not use abusive, threatening or offensive language towards any person (including Club staff and / or volunteers) when at the Club’s licensed premises, grounds or car parks.
  • Do not physically threaten or intimidate any person (including Club staff and / or volunteers) when at the Club’s licensed premises, grounds or car parks.
  • Do not abuse the Club’s facilities including, but not limited to, damage or theft.
  • Do not engage in at risk or illegal behaviours including, driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol and bringing illicit drugs onto the Club’s property.
  • Do not undertake any behaviour or activity that puts the Club’s liquor licence in jeopardy.
  • Do not use discriminatory remarks that target race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, physical limitations or ability.

The Pooraka Sports and Community Club Committee of Management may apply sanctions to any member, player, parent, coach, club official, visitor or supporter found to be in breach of the Code of Conduct. Such sanctions, based on the seriousness and frequency of their behaviour, may include:

  1. Caution
  2. Direction to leave the club event
  3. Required attendance at a meeting with members of the Committee of Management to discuss the breach/ sanction
  4. Suspension from club activities (including games)
  5. Expulsion from the Pooraka Sports and Community Club
